Welcome, Beginners!

 

The Insight Meditation Center of Newburyport (IMCN) offers classes, retreats, and workshops for people who fall along a broad spectrum of meditation experience.  If you have never meditated before, or if you have meditated in the past but don’t have any experience with Insight Meditation, we offer a number of opportunities especially designed for you:

 

The 'Introduction to Insight Meditation' drop-in classes as well as an evening introductory class series allow you to learn about the fundamental teaching of Insight Meditation, practice sitting and walking meditation with guidance from a teacher or instructor, and have the opportunity to participate in a group question & answer period.  

 

In addition to the drop in weekday classes and class series we offer periodic beginner workshops and retreats.  These weekend offerings are designed to complement the weekday offerings with an extended practice format, and provide an opportunity to explore the transformative power of Insight Meditation for those whose schedules may not allow them to attend weekday classes.
